1 hour 24 minutes ■ Spanish with English subtitles

Majo and Cris, a millennial couple in their thirties, spend her birthday at his parents’ home. Majo hopes he’ll finally propose, but when she realizes Cris doesn’t believe in marriage, tensions rise. But at the end, he caves in.

So what was meant to be an intimate afternoon, spirals into an improvised “engagement party”. As baby boomers and millennials clash over values, love, and expectations, facades crack, roles shift, and the party turns into an identity crisis with drinks. In the end, each guest is left to confront a quietly devastating truth: they no longer know how to be.

Director Biography
A graduate of the Film and Television program at CENTRO, Salvador Espinosa began his career as a 1st A.D. in 2010 with the Canal Once series Estado de Gracia and Bienes Raíces. These projects marked the beginning of an extensive body of work as a First Assistant Director on series for Argos, Cadena 3, TV Azteca, and Netflix, as well as on the feature films Yerbamala and Más Negro Que la Noche.

His directorial debut came with the series El Albergue, followed by La Clínica. In 2016, he gained notable recognition when he was invited to direct episodes of the acclaimed series Club de Cuervos, eventually directing most of its final season (2018).

In 2017, he directed NBCUniverso’s El Vato, which went on to be nominated for — and win — the EMMY Award for Best Non-English Language Prime Time Program.

In 2018, he directed his first feature film, Guadalupe Reyes, produced by Filmadora Nacional and Videocine. The film premiered in late 2019 and drew over one million viewers.

Following that, he worked on projects such as Backdoor, Ahí Te Encargo, La Flor Más Bella, and most recently Harina, which remained in Prime Video Mexico’s Top Ten for over eight months. Its second season premiered in October 2023, also reaching the platform’s #1 spot in its opening weeks.

In late 2024, he directed his first independent feature under his own company, IDA FILMS. His next film is set to premiere on Netflix in the first half of 2025.
